New marquees thanks to State Government Grant
Thanks to a Department of Jobs, Precincts and Regions (Agriculture Victoria) grant we’ve purchased two 8mx4m marquees which can be joined to make a single 8mx8m structure.
The marquees were funded through the department’s Agricultural and Pastoral Society Grant scheme. The marquees are available for community events and those hiring the showgrounds.
Veteran Vintage Classic Car Club Bendigo
Over 30 members of the Veteran Vintage Classic Car Club Bendigo enjoyed a one day excursion to Kingston in December. Members took in the sights and appreciated our special landscape.
Get behind the power alliance
The Kingston and District Power Alliance needs your support. The Western Victoria Network Transmission Project plans to put 55–80 metre-high towers within one kilometre of our grounds.
The society is concerned about the impact this will have on not only the showgrounds, but also on the local community, agriculture, heritage values and tourism in the are.
Southern Explorers @ Kingston
Kingston hosted the Southern Explorers in November. The weather was cool for a while, but our wood heater kept everyone comfortable.
Looking towards the 2022 show
Unfortunately our 2021 Kingston Agricultural Show has been cancelled. We had hoped to run a fabulous event, and we acknowledge the hard work of all involved.
The efforts made can be built on, and we’re working on a number of improvements to our grounds and facilities in preparation for a fantastic, family-friendly event next year.
Rover Car Club comes to Kingston
We welcomed the Australian Rover Car Club to the Kingston Showgrounds recently. The group spent the day visiting some of the best locations and sights across the local district.
Join us for our AGM
Another year has passed and it’s time for the Kingston Agricultural Society’s Annual General Meeting. All are welcome, and we encourage anyone interested in learning more about our work or getting involved to attend.
2020 Show Cancelled
For only the second time since 1944, our annual show has had to be cancelled. We look forward to putting on a great event in 2021.
Grants fund upgrades and enhancements
Thanks to generous support from the Hepburn Shire, and State and Federal Government Grants, we have been able to complete a number of projects and upgrades.
Grounds now open to the public
The pedestrian gates have been unlocked and the showgrounds are now permanently open to the public. We welcome visitors year round. Walk your dog, have a picnic, take some photos or throw a ball around with kids on the oval. The heritage grandstand is a sight within itself and definitely worth a visit.
